Dialogues with Nature presents works by 15 artists based in Bristol and around the world, exploring our evolving relationship with the natural world.
For many people living in modern cities, nature is no longer a constant presence but something encountered intermittently, a place we visit rather than inhabit. Yet nature predates us and continues to shape the environments that sustain our lives. In Bristol, close proximity to rural landscapes serves as a reminder of this enduring connection.
This exhibition brings together artists who reflect on their personal dialogues with nature through diverse artistic practices. For some, nature has long been a central subject and source of inspiration; for others, it represents a new terrain of exploration. Collectively, the works invite viewers to reconsider how we see, understand, and situate ourselves within the natural world, using these reflections as a starting point for broader conversations about belonging, responsibility, and coexistence.
Through handmade prints, oil paintings, and mixed-media sculptures, the artists share intimate and varied conversations with nature, offering multiple perspectives on how it is observed, remembered, imagined, and felt.
