The CHOCOLATE FACTORY

This city centre medium workshop and events space is located within the Centrespace Studios complex.

The Chocolate Factory is adjacent to the Centrespace Gallery on the ground floor. At over 100 square metres the space is ideally suited for workshops, lectures, film screenings and small evening events at a capacity of 60 people.

We strive to make The Chocolate Factory accessible and affordable for the wider community, especially for local artists and creatives. We welcome all types of events and are open to collaborating with artists and organisations to create unique experiences. The Chocolate Factory has been used for a wide variety of events in the past from dog life drawing, to art markets and music events. 

  • Standard Rate - £20/hr

    Out of Hours (after 6pm / weekends / bank holdiays) + £25

    Minimum Booking of Four Hours

  • The Chocolate Factory Features:

    Small stage 
    10 Wooden benches. 
    6 workshop tables.
    Small kitchen (kettle, fridge, microwave).
    Two accessible toilets including baby change table.
    Capacity 60 - 80 depending on activity.

    Can I sell alcohol?
    We do not have a liquor licence. If you wish to sell alcohol, please ask us or email us at centrespacegallery@gmail.com. If we approve you can then get a TENs Licence from the council. Do not apply for a TENs licence without consulting us.

    Can I book the Chocolate Factory for consecutive days?
    Possibly, this depends on our studio holders schedules and other event bookings. Please bear in mind that The Chocolate Factory is also used by studio holders and studios lead off from the events space.

    Will I be able to let myself in and out of the Space?
    No. A studio holder will be there to let you in and out of the space.

    Is The Chocolate Factory a private space?
    Studios lead off from The Chocolate Factory, these studio holders could walk through The Chocolate Factory.

    Do I need to account for set up and take down?
    Yes, please include all your set up / take down time in the application. We expect all users of the space to clean up after themselves. If you have any specific requirements, please let us know.

  • As the committee group responsible for the Chocolate Factory event space, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
