Showing what’s possible when an artistic eye meets traditional skill, Connections Through Wood brings together a wide range of talents united by their appreciation of the wooden object.
Using locally sourced timbers to create furniture, tableware and sculptures, the artists explore the boundaries between woodworking and sculpture.
Artists range from award-winning young designers and green woodworkers to makers who have been working and teaching in Bristol for decades.
Including: Geoff Hannis (QEST Emerging Maker 2024), Flo Hamer (winner of the Worshipful Company of Basketmakers’ 2023 Contemporary Basketry award), Alistair Park, Adam Morgan, Johannes Roux, Alex Skawinski, Oliver Dorman, Rae Woods, Louis Johnston and Harry Morris (winner of the Heritage Crafts Association’s ‘Young Woodworker of the Year’ award 2023).

BRUSH MAKING WORKSHOP WITH RAE WOODS | Monday, 28th September, 6 pm - 8 pm.
Learn the basics of traditional brush making with Rae in the Centrespace Gallery as part of the Connections Through Wood Exhibition. Together, we will go through different varieties of UK timber, shaping your brush handle and fitting the bristles, leaving you with a finished household brush. No two brushes will be the same!
The event is held at the Centrespace Gallery in Bristol on Leonard's Lane. Turn up from 5.30pm for a 6pm start. The event should finish around 8pm.

Entry: Admission is free; tickets are not required.
Accessibility: The exhibition space is fully wheelchair accessible, with step-free entry and wide pathways throughout. An accessible toilet is available on-site. Seating is provided within the exhibition for visitors who may need to rest. We welcome assistance dogs, and staff are available to offer support if needed.
