CORE SAMPLE

  • Centrespace Gallery & Studios 6 Leonard Lane Bristol, England, BS1 1EA United Kingdom (map)

Core Sample is the culmination of the works of the 2025/26 Day School cohort, an alternative arts education programme based in Bristol. From soft structures, shifting environments, shadow worlds, and found fragments, the works shown in Core Sample combine textiles, sculptural forms, and performance pieces to explore the relationship between bodies, materials and spaces.

Inspired by creative processes such as resist dyeing, knitting, and working with found objects, the exhibition meanders between the domestic and the architectural, the personal and the collective. Rich both visually and texturally, Core Sample is a thought-provoking spectacle, encouraging viewers to reflect on themes related to memory, adaptation, support and transformation.

While you move through the exhibition space, ponder what it means to adapt to new spaces and environments; do you morph into the space, or does the space morph to you?
