GLASS

Catriona's Glass is made with the intention to connect you to the material through tactility and colour. Her work is predominantly about sanctuary - giving comfort through form, functionality, and the story behind each piece. It is Cat's hope that using tactility to break down the barrier between the owner and glass, that she shall encourage the owner to adopt this philosophy in their everyday life. She wants to bring a connection to her work and the owner, an excuse to stop and sit with the work; to use it in their routine and enjoy its presence in their everyday life.
Catriona's designs attempt to convey a strong sense of design and a distinctive style, WHILE maintaining a minimal aesthetic.

Frith is an anglo-saxon word meaning peace and security. It is the ethos of FRITH Glassware to create luxurious glass pieces that are a pleasure to own and a comfort to hold.

JEWELLERY

Catriona attended Edinburgh College of Art where she took jewellery as a second subject.

Her work is inspired by the sanctuary and texture of woodlands, with common themes arising. She has a love of myxomycetes (slime moulds) and mycology (fungi) which tend to reappear within her jewellery work.

Most of Catriona's work uses a combination of materials from precious metals to glass, wood, brass or foraged items from her walks in the woods. She wants to play with the sensory experience her jewellery can give to the wearer.
